The Khachaturian International Competition continues to bring together talented musicians and music lovers in celebration of the great composer’s birthday.   Join us on June 6 for the official opening concert, featuring the composer’s remarkable Cello Concerto performed by Victor Julien-Laferrière and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan.   Concert Program: - Aram Khachaturian - Waltz from the Music to the Drama “Masquerade” (4 min) - Aram Khachaturian - Aysheh’s Dance from the Ballet Suite “Gayaneh” No. 1 (3 min) - Aram Khachaturian - Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia from the Ballet Suite “Spartacus” No. 2 (9 min) - Aram Khachaturian - Scene and Dance with Crotalums from the Ballet Suite “Spartacus” No. 1 (3 min) - Aram Khachaturian - Cello Concerto in E minor (32 min)   _____________ Soloist: Victor Julien-Laferrière (cello).  Conductor: Sergey Smbatyan.   June 6 | 7 PM     Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall   Admission permitted for children aged 6 and above.
