About the event
Araspel, the latest album and concert project by pianist Laura Farré Rozada,
brings together more than ten years of research, passion, and artistic
commitment. The title is a clear invitation to explore the sonic universe of
Armenian music, with Komitas as its spiritual and aesthetic epicenter.
Trained as a pianist at the Royal College of Music in London and also a
mathematician, Farré Rozada is known for her interdisciplinary perspective and
her ability to build bridges between disciplines.
With Araspel, she explores Komitas’s legacy and his pivotal role in the fusion
of liturgical and folk music, while tracing a sonic map that connects Armenian
composers with creators from Bulgaria, France, Russia, and the United States.
The program includes works by Komitas, Dimitar Nenov, Alexander Spendiaryan,
Gayane Chebotarian, Claude Debussy, Alan Hovhaness, and Arno Babajanian.
