Concert - Khachaturian: Symphony with Bells | Timothy Ridout, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra

On December 9, as part of the 14th Khachaturian International Festival, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will present a program where Eastern musical accents meet one of the most powerful works of Armenian symphonic music.   The soloist of the evening is internationally acclaimed violist, Timothy Ridout.   Be part of one of the festival’s most impressive programs, from the solo voice of the viola to the powerful resonance of Khachaturian’s bells!   Concert Program: - Tollib Shakhidi: “Taj Mahal”, Symphonic Raga (10 min); - Tollib Shakhidi: Viola Concerto (25 min); Intermission - Aram Khachaturian: Symphony No. 2 in E minor, “Symphony with Bells” (50 min).   Soloist: Timothy Ridout (viola) Conductor: Sergey Smbatyan   December 9 | 7:30 PM Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall   Ticket price: 3,000–15,000 AMD․ Admission for children aged 6 and above.   The festival is organized by the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
