About the event
On April 16 at 19:00, a юбилейный concert will take place at the Komitas Chamber
Music Hall, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth and the 55th
anniversary of the artistic career of violinist Artashes Mkrtchyan.
Artashes Mkrtchyan and his students will perform during the concert.
Pianists: Hasmik Ter-Antonyan, Shushan Arevshatyan.

About Artashes Mkrtchyan
Artashes Mkrtchyan is a laureate of the All-Union Competition and the Borodin
Quartet Competition, Professor at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan,
founder of the Aram Khachaturian String Quartet, and a soloist of the Armenian
Philharmonic.
He studied under one of the greatest violinists of his time, Jean
Ter-Merguerian. Throughout his career, he has performed extensively with leading
symphony and chamber orchestras worldwide and has participated in prestigious
international festivals.
He has been the first performer of numerous works by Armenian composers, many of
which were written specifically for and dedicated to him.
Today, many of Mkrtchyan’s students work in leading musical institutions in
Armenia and abroad, with several achieving international recognition as
violinists.
