About the event

The birthday of the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia, the orchestra presents a special concert program dedicated to composer, cellist, and founder of the legendary ensemble Artemiy Ayvazyan—and to the origins of Armenian jazz. The evening’s main guest is the acclaimed cellist Artyom Manukyan. “Alagyos Acher”, “Barcarolle”, “Armenian Rhapsody”, and other works by Ayvazyan will be heard in contemporary jazz arrangements created especially for this program by Artyom Manukyan and Davit Melkonyan. The concert will also feature selected pieces from the orchestra’s exclusive repertoire.
